Trump vs. Hillary isn’t the only debate in the news right now — especially in the drone community. In the wake of the recent Part 107 legislation, and following InterDrone 2016, every hobbyist, commercial, and business drone operator is engaging in the industry’s hottest topic:
What’s better, the DJI Mavic Pro or the GoPro Karma?
Allow us to offer you a fair, balanced, and unbiased overview of 2016’s latest and greatest drones!
DJI Mavic Pro
The Mavic Pro is DJI’s newest and most innovative drone yet. First, it is as portable as it is versatile. This machine folds down to the size of a water bottle, and its Obstacle Avoidance goes hand-in-hand with its sensor redundancy to increase flight safety and reliability. Furthermore, the DJI Mavi can fly up to 40 mph for up to 27 minutes. It’s also great for aerial video and photography because its ActiveTrack, TapFly and other smart features ensure stability.
According to GoPro’s website, the Karma is “more than a drone.” In case you’re wondering what they mean by that, consider this: It was built to allow users to capture smooth footage with their hands, in the air, or in a mounted position. Moreover, the Karma was designed to operate as easily in the hands of first-time-flyers as it does with seasoned veterans behind the controls.
Size: The Mavic Pro folds down to the size of a water bottle, while the Karma is a bit more cumbersome, requiring its owners to carry it from place to place — preferably as a backpack.
Price: The Karma is listed at $799.99, while the Mavic Pro is currently priced at $999.00
